However, during diagnosis, a neuropsychologist and speech therapist-defectologist pursue different goals. Neuropsychologist evaluates processes cognitive activity child. Conducts an analysis, finding out the structure of the defect - which links of higher mental functions are sufficiently developed and correspond age standards, and which are more poorly developed. A speech pathologist-defectologist, in addition to assessing the level of speech development, monitors basic parameters cognitive development: the child’s level of acceptance of the task, ways to solve this task, learning ability during the diagnostic examination. By a strange coincidence, the camera that was supposed to video record the classes was not working, the manager was busy testing the fire alarm and did not hear anything, no one asked for a written explanation of the incident from the specialist. The administration clearly sided with its employee, citing the lack of evidence that pressure was put on my child and measures were taken against him physical impact. In general, I have never seen such a terrible attitude towards a child and his parents even in government institutions. Therefore, think about whether you want your child to be “broken over the knee,” traumatizing him psychologically. By the way, the speech therapist we invited after this gave my child one of the sounds in 3 lessons without any pressure.
