Pine cone jam - pine honey +++ Pine gives us the most valuable thing that can be used to treat humans. This includes resin, buds, pine needles, and pine cones, which are widely used in folk medicine. However, in order for the jam from green cones to be truly healing and beneficial for the body, the cones should be properly collected and prepared. In Ukraine this is mid-May - early June, in middle lane Russia - June 21-25. Jam can be made from those pine cones that can be easily cut with a knife or pierced with a fingernail. Cones that reach 1-4 cm in length are suitable for collection. When collecting pine cones, pay attention to them appearance. It happens that a pine tree can be affected by insects: you should not collect cones from such a tree. There are several recipes for “honey” and pine cone jam. All the recipes below are consumed with a small amount of water on an empty stomach 3 times a day. For what? With the help of medicinal “honey” from cones, diseases of the respiratory system are well treated; in addition, jam is also used as a general tonic that has a beneficial effect on human immunity. 1. "Honey" from pine cones. approximate ratio: 0.3 kg of cones, 1 l. water, 1 kg sugar. Sort out the collected cones, rinse, remove spoiled ones. Place the cones in a saucepan and pour them over cold water. You need to pour enough water so that it slightly covers the cones (1-1.5 cm). Bring the water to a boil and add 1 kg of sugar (at the rate of 1 kg of sugar per 1 liter of water). Cover the jars with a clean napkin or gauze and place in a sunny warm place and shake from time to time until the sugar is completely dissolved and a syrup is formed. When the sugar has completely dissolved, you can try the “sunny” jam. Cover the jam with a tight lid and place in a cool, dark place. 3. “Signature” recipe. The collected cones are washed and cut for better soaking in syrup. The syrup is prepared at the rate of 1 kg of sugar per 1.5 glasses of water. We use sugar in the amount of 1.5 kg per 1 kg of cones. The cones are poured with hot syrup and left for 3-4 hours. After this, put the mixture on the fire, gradually bringing it to a boiling point - approximately 80-85 ° C, remove from the heat and let it cool until it cools completely. Then repeat the heating again. Important: do not boil at this stage! Impregnation of cones with syrup is best done when hot. Put the jam on the fire a third time, bring to a boil, and simmer for 40 minutes. During boiling, the syrup becomes amber, tart in taste, and the buds become soft. The finished product is removed from the heat and sealed in jars. It is better to consume ready-made jam between meals. To treat gums, you can chew the cones themselves (do not swallow them!), as they are an excellent bactericidal agent that has a positive effect on the mucous membrane oral cavity and gums.
