What to read like Dan Brown. Dan Brown similar books

In the section for the question Please advise authors who write in the style of Dan Brown. given by the author electrosleep the best answer is I agree with the advice of Umberto Eco (but he is much more complex and more intellectual than Dan Brown). “Foucault’s Pendulum”, if it works, then then “The Name of the Rose” (there’s more history here).
I disagree about Arturo Perez-Reverte - he has amazing style and is much smarter than Dan Brown. There are no obvious mistakes. I recommend. Start with "Flemish Board".
Intelligent detectives:
Carlos Ruiz Zafon “Shadow of the Wind” is relatively new.
Scarlett Thomas “The Lumas Obsession” - there’s more mysticism here.
Walter Moers “City of Dreaming Books” - there is also fantasy.
Ian Pierce’s “The Pointing Finger” - to be honest, I didn’t finish it until the end.
Stieg Larsson "The Girl Who..." is a good, solid series. Although not without some mistakes. But Brown has many more mistakes.
Robert Ludlum “The Scarlatti Legacy” and “The Bourne Identity” are included in the set.
==
Harlan Coben writes wonderful psychological detective stories: “The Thicket,” “The Lost,” “Just One Look”... -take any of them, you won’t regret it.
==
Rollins - there is a blunder sitting on a blunder and chasing a blunder.
Choose more detective stories here:
It's easy to understand the meaning and style. I often choose books to suit my mood there.

Literary criticism

Dan Brown's works are constantly discussed. Moreover, the criticism is quite serious; many well-known literary experts regularly express very harsh judgments regarding the writer’s work.

The main reason for this was the prefaces to the books, in which the author insists on the accuracy of all historical facts which he cites in his works. To one of the phrases of the famous world critic, Brown replied that he was mixing real events and fictional ones to make people more interested in history. In addition, the author noted that many readers understand this move and enjoy plunging into the plot of the book. For those who advocate only genuine and verified facts, Dan advised them to choose another author.

In response to this loud statement, the critic Chivers began to say that the majority of even the most known facts described by Brown is not at all like that. The critic has studied the entire list of Dan Brown's works. As an example, he cites the same Copernicus, who lived very long life and died in old age. And in the author’s work it is said that this famous person was burned at the stake. Chivers cites many similar examples, however, Dan Brown doesn't pay any attention to this and just continues to create.

To read or not to read?

Dan Brown's books are truly worth reading. Perhaps critics are right that not all the facts in the works are accurate, but this only adds flavor to the writer’s work. The way Dan Brown presents the story to the reader can captivate and make him really interested in this science.

We can only hope that for many more years the writer will delight readers all over the world with his beautiful works, the plots and heroes of which are very different from those that are encountered today at every turn.

for Slytherin

The holy grail awaits near Roslin... How enchanting this phrase sounds! The mystery of the Holy Grail alone is enough to attract the attention of an inquisitive reader for a long time. And if the author suggests taking a walk along the mysterious Rose Line, then it is no longer possible to resist.
I like the style in which Dan Brown writes. On the one hand, everything is fast and dynamic. There are no long retreats or trampling on the same place, but at the same time a lot of attention is paid to important details. These excursions into history and descriptions of architectural monuments simply won my heart! So it seems that you are either rushing through the dark streets of sleeping Paris, or trying to get lost in the gloomy Bois de Boulogne, or crossing the English Channel in search of one of the Templar churches. I immediately want to go somewhere to Europe and get lost there for several days, or even months.
The author dared to touch on very sensitive topics. Some might even say that he simply violated faith. Although... Can an ordinary (albeit very high-quality) novel really undermine a person’s faith in God? And if it can, then, most likely, the problem is not in the book, but in the strength of faith, or rather, the lack thereof, in a person. In my opinion, faith and religion are far from the same thing. And faith in God cannot be replaced by faith in the church. It’s like sitting under a light bulb and thinking that its light is much more pleasant than the light of the sun.
I guess I don't have special right judge the reliability of the facts that the author gives about the nature and history of the Holy Grail. I think there are many experts on this topic. But personally, I have nothing to do with them. What to do? Accept everything as truth last resort or vehemently deny and condemn even the possibility of the existence of such a hypothesis? For me, everything is ridiculously simple: let everyone decide for themselves what and how deeply to believe. It is stupid to take everything on faith without having any basis for it. But it’s even stupider to immediately deny everything just because it fundamentally contradicts your worldview.
The book also contains a very interesting detective story with several unexpected turns plot. And even if at the beginning you think that everything is extremely clear (who is a friend and who is an enemy seems terribly obvious), the longer you read, the more you understand that not every truth can be recognized the first time. So you definitely won’t be bored while reading. One way or another, I have never regretted taking up this book. The only thing that bothers me is that I just can't get rid of one obsessive thoughts... Or maybe the Holy Grail actually awaits near Roslyn?
