SSTU named after Gagarin Yu.A. is gaining popularity among foreign applicants. During the 2016 admissions campaign, school and university graduates from Asia, the CIS, the Middle East, and Africa have already submitted applications to study at SSTU. The most attractive for them are construction, architecture, oil and gas business, as well as programs related to the study of the Russian language and culture.
It is planned that based on the results of the 2016 intake at Gagarin Yu.A. About 400 foreign citizens will study (in the 2015-2016 academic year - about 350 people).
Traditionally, 80% of foreign students at SSTU come from neighboring countries, but our university is also very popular in Asian and African countries.
It is worth noting that during the preparation and conduct of the admissions campaign, SSTU employees implement a set of career guidance activities to attract foreign citizens. SSTU teachers and staff take part in international educational exhibitions, conduct subject Olympiads, and advise potential applicants online. Foreign students of our university bring their friends and relatives to us. An effective tool for attracting foreign applicants to SSTU remains the preparatory department and international summer schools, which are regularly held on the university campus.
