Vault allows you to store important files in a secure, password-protected location. If you report your computer as lost or stolen, Vault automatically locks your vault and prevents access to its contents, even if you enter the correct password.
What type of encryption is used to protect files in Vault?
Vault uses AES with a 128-bit key to protect files. You can only access your files within a reasonable time with the help of advanced decryption tools. Security also depends on the strength of your password, so don't choose a password that's easy to guess.

Is it possible to change the password?
Keep your password secret to ensure maximum file protection. If the password is disclosed to others, it must be changed immediately.
To edit the password, open the main console of the security program, click the Settings button, expand the item Other options and select Password.

How to choose a strong password?
The longer the password, the more secure it is.
Do not use names or words that can be found in the dictionary. Use phonetic substitutions to make common words unintelligible. For example, instead of the word late you can write l8, and instead of fast talker - f@st_t@lk3r.
Use combinations of letters in different cases, numbers and other symbols.
Avoid using simple patterns such as "101010" or "abcde".
Can I change my email address?
To change the email address to which you want to send password reminders, follow these steps:
Open the main security software console and click the Settings button.
Expand item Other options and select Password.
Can Vault be used like a regular Windows folder?
Trend Micro has developed storage for storing files and folders. Files can be copied or moved to storage in the same way as to any Windows OS folder. However, there are some differences to keep in mind that a Vault storage is different from a regular folder.
Dragging a file or folder into Vault causes it to be moved rather than simply copied to it, even if you hold down the CTRL key while clicking the file.
When you drag a file or folder from Vault, a backup copy of the file or folder remains in the Vault.
New files cannot be created directly in the Vault, but new files created in other folders can be copied or moved into the Vault.
Can I open files in Vault?
Yes, you can directly open files stored in Vault.
What happens if after opening a file in Vault, it is locked?
If the file was open in Vault when it was locked, simply enter your Vault password before saving the file again.
Can I create files and folders directly in Vault?

How can I report a lost or stolen computer?
If your computer is lost or stolen, Vault should be immediately locked using the Report Stolen Computer service. Access to this service requires the email address and password you provided during initialization. After a message about the loss of a computer, the Vault icon disappears from the desktop and the vault locks itself. No one will be able to open a locked Vault until the owner reports the computer back.
How quickly does Vault lock the vault after receiving a report of a lost or stolen computer?
When connected to the Internet, Vault regularly contacts Trend Micro to obtain information about the health of your computer. 1. What if I forget my password?
If you have a security Email set up before, you should be able to see a "Forgot Password" en-trance once you enter the wrong password. Tap on the entrance and follow the instructions to reset your password.
If you do not have a security Email but you had backed up your data to cloud space, then the data can be recovered from the cloud by reinstalling Vault app.
2. How do I enter vault in stealth mode？
In stealth mode, you can enter Vault by opening the phone"s dial pad, inputting "##your Vault password" (for example, input ##123 if your password is "123"), then clicking Send (or Call) button .
If Vault is currently not running in the background (when it has been force stopped by Android system or another app), ##Password will not work. Now you can:
1. Put Vault back to the phone’s home screen by adding Vault widget, once it appears on home screen, tap on it, and then input your password to enter, or,
2. Download "NQ calculator" in Google Play, open it, and input correct password then tap "=".
3. Why are my photos/videos lost?
Some cleaning or free storage apps may automatically delete Vault’s data folder used to store pictures and videos. So, as a best practice, please do not choose to delete Vault’s data folder and subfolders (mnt/sdcard/SystemAndroid) when you use such apps.
You can also backup your sms, pictures and videos to cloud by using "Cloud Backup" feature in the premium page of Vault.
