Miguel ha recibido muchos regalos de sus amigos y entre otras cosas muchos libros. Al abrir uno de estos libros en el tren, Miguel leyó:
„Fresnedo se vistió su americana, se cubrió con un sombrero, y tomando de la mano a su niño, bajó al jardín y de allí se trasladaron al establo. Las vacas mugieron débilmente, lo cual puso en gran sobresalto a Jesús, que se negó a entrar. Su padre le tomó entonces en brazos, y pasó y quiso acercarle a las vacas. Chucho que no las llevaba todas consigo, confesó que a las vacas les tenía un „potito de miedo”. A los carneros ya era otra cosa. A estos declaraba que no les temía ni poco ni mucho; que jamás había sentido por ellos más que amor y veneración. Se trasladaron al departamento de las ovejas. Acercóle su padre a un carnero y Chucho avanzó un poco la mano, la retiró, volvió a avanzarla, volvió, a retirarla. Por último se decidió a manifestar a su papá que a los carneros les tenía „un potito de miedo”.
Pero, en cambio, dijo que a las gallinas las trataba con la mayor confianza.
Fresnedo no tuvo inconveniente en llevarle al gallinero. Allí Chucho con una bravura de que hay pocos ejemplos en la historia, se dirigió al gallo mayor y trató de cogerle por el rabo como había formalmente prometido, pero el grave sultán del gallinero chilló de tal horrísona manera, que el frío de la muerte penetró en el corazón de Chucho.
Apresuróse a soltarlo, se agarró al cuello de su padre y confesó que a las gallinas también les tenía „un potito de miedo”.

Grammar
1. Relative pronoun cual
Relative pronoun cual used after a noun and, as a rule, with a definite article - el cual, la cual, los cuales, las cuales - that, that, those, and also in the meaning: That; which (what); that; which (what); what; those that. It correlates with nouns denoting persons, animals or objects and agrees with these nouns in gender and number. This pronoun is a synonym for the pronoun el que(see lesson 24), but is used much less frequently than el que, For example:
El libro del cual hablas es mió.
The book you are talking about is mine.
Tiene muchos cuadros, gran parte de los cuales compró en España.
He has many paintings, most of which he bought in Spain.
Pronoun el cual also used after complex and simple prepositions por, sin, tras, For example:
por el cual
through which
sin la cual
without which
tras los cuales
behind which
Pronoun el cual is usually used to avoid misunderstandings that may arise when a noun qualified by a relative pronoun not worth it directly before this pronoun, for example:
Not encontrado al padre de Juana, el cual estaba muy preocupado.
I met Juana's father, who was very concerned.
If instead of a pronoun el cual a pronoun was used queen, then it would be unknown who was concerned: Juana or her father.
Case relations of pronouns el cual the same as case relations of other pronouns:

In an interrogative sentence ¿cuál? is an interrogative pronoun, used independently without an article with emphasis and translated into Russian in the meaning Which? which?, For example:
¿Cuál de estos lápices es el tuyo?
Which of these pencils is yours?
Neuter form lo cual just like lo que replaces an entire sentence and in this case is translated into Russian - what, For example:
Encontré a Juana, lo cual* me alegró mucho.
I met Juana, which (what I met) made me very happy.
* cual without an article also acts as a function adverbs and replaces in this case: como, igual que - How, For example: el gallo chilló cual una fiera - the rooster crowed like a wild animal.

*Compare: paso por la calle - Ramirez pasa por rico; paso por in the first sentence it is translated as - cross (across) the street, in the second - in the meaning - considered rich. The use of the appropriate meaning depends on the meaning of the sentence.

Verbs sentir And vestirse belong to group I of irregular verbs of deviant conjugation (see. comenzar). Verb soltar belongs to Group II of irregular verbs of deviant conjugation (see. contar). Verb poner belongs to the individual conjugation.

In all other tenses of the indicative mood, the above verbs are conjugated without deviations, except for the verb poner, which has the form pretérito compuesto the next deviation appears.
