Russian legislation allows citizens who have successfully passed the entrance examination to state universities to receive higher education for free. And to increase their chances of admission, applicants can submit applications and participate in the competition of several educational institutions at once.

The procedure for admission to institutions of higher professional education, approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 2895 of December 28, 2011, provides for applicants the opportunity to enroll in 5 universities simultaneously, as well as choose up to 3 specialties or directions in each of them. In any case, first of all you need to submit applications for admission to the first year to the selected universities.

The list of required documents is the same for all universities:
- statement;
- passport or other identity document;
- document on education (certificate, diploma of a secondary or higher vocational educational institution);
- 4 photographs (in case you need to undergo additional tests or pass exams conducted by the university independently);
- ticket (if available);
- documents confirming the right to benefits.

Basic information about the potential student must be included in the application. It indicates: last name, first name, patronymic, date of birth of the applicant, his passport data, chosen directions or specialties, information about education, the results of the Unified State Examination, participation in Olympiads, the availability of benefits, as well as the need for a hostel. Documentation. If the former spouses have no disagreements about who and how will make the due payments, they can arrange them with a notary. On the university website you can see the list of all specialties, find out about the number of budget places and the need to take additional exams. Such information usually appears at least several weeks before the start of the introductory campaign.

Preparation of documents


A detailed list of documents can be found on the same website of the educational institution, or by calling the admissions office. The standard set of documents looks like this:

  • passport and its copy;
  • document on complete secondary education and its copy;
  • certificate of passing the Unified State Exam and its copy;
  • 6-8 matte black and white photographs 3x4 (it’s better to have a spare);
  • registration certificate or military ID (for guys);
  • medical certificate form 086-u (for full-time applicants).

To obtain the latest certificate, you will have to undergo a medical examination at the clinic. It’s better not to put it off until the last days before starting work of the university admissions committee. Firstly, it is not a fact that you will go through all the doctors at once - this may take several days, and secondly, keep in mind that you are not the only one, and during this period there will be many future applicants who want to undergo a medical examination.

In addition to the listed documents, you may need additional ones in the form of certificates of income and family composition, certificates of preferential status, etc. In addition, it is better to immediately clarify whether copies of documents need to be certified by a notary, although this is usually done by an admissions officer completely free of charge. Don't forget to prepare your portfolio, consisting of diplomas, certificates of completion of courses, accolades and anything else that can indicate your achievements.

In fact, haste is absolutely pointless. It is best to go to the admissions office two weeks after the start of its work - it is likely that you will not have to stand in a huge line under the scorching sun or in a stuffy corridor. You will be able to come and hand over all the documents without haste and communicate without interference with representatives of the commission, learning about the features of both admission and training.

Submission of documents


When going to university, be sure to arm yourself with a pen and notepad, as they may tell you a lot of information you need, which is not always possible to remember.

In most educational institutions, the admissions committee of different faculties is located in separate rooms. There must be a list in a visible place informing about which office accepts documents for a particular specialty.

Once in the desired office, you inform about what specialty and form of study you are enrolling in and present all the documents. If everything is in order with them, they let you fill out an application. Often, the admissions committee contains students from this university who are only a couple of years older than you. Do not hesitate to ask them any questions you are interested in, as they say, “without leaving the cash register.”

Be sure to find out the dates of consultations and entrance exams. If necessary, inform about the need to live in a hostel. Don't forget to mention if you have any benefits and document this.

If you are sure that you will get into a given university for a specific specialty, then you can immediately submit the original documents so that you don’t have to worry about them again later. In any case, you must be given a receipt with a list of all the documents that you left with the admissions committee. Please note that in this receipt you will be able to see the specialty code and your serial number, for example, SP-37 - this means that you are the 37th applicant to apply for this specialty.

Tracking the rating of applicants

On the official website of the university, if you're lucky, the list of applicants for each specialty will be updated daily. Everything will be presented in the form of a rating according to Unified State Exam results. So even before the official announcement of the list of applicants, you can assess your chances.

However, you need to take into account that if the educational institution of your choice conducts additional entrance exams, the preliminary ranking data may ultimately change dramatically. In addition, most applicants apply for several specialties at once, and not to one university, so there is a high probability that not everyone who has the opportunity to enroll will ultimately take the allocated places.

Actions after the official announcement of results

At the appointed time, universities publish information from list of accepted applicants. The list must be posted in a visible, easily accessible place in the academic institution itself and posted on its official website.

This is where promptness will not hurt, since you will need to submit the necessary original documents as quickly as possible, if, of course, this was not done immediately. If you just missed out on points, don’t be upset, because there will be a second wave of enrollment when those who went to another university will free up their places.

We fill out the form. All fields are required:

  1. Bazhany login— a unique name (login) in Latin letters, specifically for the system. Will be used for login. Make sure that it is already free (a green frame will appear around the inscription)
  2. Email addresses- here you need to enter a valid email address. If you don’t have one yet, create one, for example, on gmail.com. Important information will be sent to this address.
  3. Certificate number— here you need to indicate the number of the ZNO certificate for 2016 and 2017
  4. PIN code- this is the code that was indicated on the certificate with which you accessed the personal page of the ZNO portal.
  5. Rik otrymannya— the year in which the certificate was received. There is only one option here - 2017.
  6. Series and certificate number- indicate the series and number of the certificate of complete secondary education (this is 11th grade of school or 1st year of college / vocational school)
  7. Middle ball- the point that raises the most questions. However, everything is very banal. Once you are sure that everything is filled out correctly, click on Submit Application. The system will ask if you are sure of your choice and add the university to the list of submitted applications.

So, we send applications and wait. Over time, their status and color will change. The following options are possible:

  • Registered in EDEBO— your application has been accepted by the system
  • Will require clarification by the applicant— some data requires clarification and the university must contact you about obtaining it
  • Registered with VNZ— the application has been received and the possibility of admission to the competition is being considered
  • Admitted to the competition— the applicant takes part in the competition
  • Inspired by VNZ— the admissions committee rejected the applicant (the reason for the refusal must be indicated)
  • Skewed by the intercessor (or VNZ)— the application was withdrawn by the applicant or the university as a result of a technical error
  • Recommended before insurance— the applicant is recommended for enrollment
  • Included from the list of recommended— the right to be enrolled is lost as a result of violation of the rules of entry, admission to another university, etc.
  • Included until ordered- by decree of the university, the applicant is enrolled in studies

If you enter a university after the 11th grade of school, then in most cases you must pass the Unified State Exam (USE). In some cases, along with the Unified State Exam, you may need to pass additional entrance tests:

2. Is it possible to enter a university without the Unified State Exam?

You don’t have to take the Unified State Exam and enroll based on the results of entrance exams that the university conducts independently if you fall into one of the following categories:

  • disabled people and children with disabilities;
  • Foreign citizens;
  • applicants applying on the basis of a diploma of secondary or higher professional education;

3. When do I need to submit documents for admission?

Universities begin accepting documents for budget-funded full-time and part-time undergraduate and specialist degrees no later than June 20. Document acceptance ends no earlier than:

  • July 7, if upon admission to your chosen specialty or field of study, the university conducts additional creative or professional tests;
  • July 10, if upon admission to the specialty or field of study you have chosen, the university conducts any other additional entrance tests;
  • July 26, if you are applying only based on the results of the Unified State Exam.

For all forms of paid and correspondence education on a budget, universities determine the deadlines for accepting documents independently.

You can simultaneously submit documents for admission to a bachelor's or specialist's degree to five universities. In each of them you can choose up to three specialties or areas of training.

4. What documents are needed for admission?

When applying to a university, you will need to fill out an application for admission. As a rule, it can be downloaded from the university website. The application must be accompanied by:

  • passport or other document proving the identity and citizenship of the applicant;
  • document on previous education received: school leaving certificate, diploma of primary, secondary or higher vocational education;
  • information about the results of the Unified State Exam, if you took it;
  • 2 photographs if upon admission you will take additional entrance tests;
  • registration certificate or military ID (if available);
  • medical certificate form 086/у - for medical, pedagogical and Their list was approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of August 14, 2013 No. 697.">some others specialties and directions;
  • if your representative will submit documents instead of you, you will additionally need a notarized power of attorney and a document proving his identity;

5. What do you need to apply for a budget?

To apply to the chosen university, you must score a number of points equal to minimum score or exceeding it. The university itself determines the minimum score for each specialty and direction, but cannot set it below the level approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

A competition is being held among applicants who have submitted documents for admission. The first to be admitted will be the applicants with the most total points for For some individual achievements, the university can add points to the applicant - no more than 10 in total. Such achievements can be a school medal, a certificate or a diploma of secondary vocational education with honors. 6. Who can enter without exams?

The following people can enter the university without entrance exams:

  • winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren or the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian student Olympiad, if they enter specialties and directions, "> corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad - for 4 years, not counting the year in which the Olympiad was held;

7. What is “targeted learning”?

Some universities provide admission to targeted training in specialties included in the list determined by the Government of the Russian Federation.

An applicant entering within the target quota is sent for training by a region of the Russian Federation, a government agency or a company with which the university has entered into an agreement on admitting applicants for targeted training. You can find out whether such agreements have been concluded at the university of your choice by contacting the admissions office. Applicants entering under the target quota do not participate in the general competition.

When submitting an application for admission to targeted training, in addition to the main documents, you will need to provide a copy of the target training agreement certified by the customer or present the original later. Sometimes information about the contract concluded with you comes to the educational institution directly from the organization that orders the training.

Information about applicants within the target quota is not included in the general list of applications for admission, and is not posted on official websites and information stands in the interests of state security.

8. What other benefits are there when entering a university?

  • 9. How is enrollment done?

    Until July 27 inclusive, on its official website, the university publishes lists of applicants applying for a bachelor's or specialty degree in a budget department of full-time or part-time study and who have passed the minimum score threshold.

    The university updates the list of applicants daily, excluding from them those who decided to enroll in another university and those who are already enrolled.

    The university determines the deadlines for enrollment in paid departments and correspondence courses independently.

    There has been no evidence of USE results for several years. At the same time, if the work of the admissions committee is properly organized, there are still no long queues (at least in our university). It is necessary, however, not to forget that the deadline for accepting documents for different categories of applicants may be different. So, if additional creative or professional tests are required for the chosen direction or specialty, the acceptance of documents can be completed as early as July 7 (the exact date must be clarified in the admission rules of the selected university).

    Another factual error - winners and prize-winners of school Olympiads from the list approved by the Ministry of Education and Science can take advantage of admission benefits only if they have Unified State Exam results of at least 75 points in a core subject (the article talks about last year’s threshold of 65 points) .
