That flattery is vile and harmful; but everything is not for the future,
And a flatterer will always find a corner in the heart.
Somewhere God sent a piece of cheese to a crow;
Raven perched on the spruce tree,
I was just about ready to have breakfast,
Yes, I thought about it, but I held the cheese in my mouth.
To that misfortune, the Fox ran close by;
Suddenly the cheese spirit stopped the Fox:
The fox sees the cheese -
The fox was captivated by the cheese,
The cheat approaches the tree on tiptoe;
He twirls his tail and doesn’t take his eyes off Crow.
And he says so sweetly, barely breathing:
“My dear, how beautiful!
What a neck, what eyes!
Telling fairy tales, really!
What feathers! what a sock!
And, truly, there must be an angelic voice!
Sing, little light, don’t be ashamed!

To the top branch of a tree.
(The curtain opens, a crow in a sundress or robe sits on a tree and eats cheese...)
(a fox runs out (dressed in a sundress) and sniffs, she saw a crow)
Who called up to a crow:
Fox (sees crow)
“How very beautiful you are
Has no one told you?”
(The fox begins to spin in front of the tree)

Quite firmly in his beak,
(the crow does not react, eats the cheese)
But did not dare to speak.
(The crow looked down and saw a fox.)

And 100 years have past……
ACT 2
HOST 2
A farmer's wife threw out some cheese,
And before you could count three,
A crow swooped down and carried it off
To the top branch of a tree.
(The curtain opens. Cheerful music plays. A crow sits at the table. The waiter serves her cheese on a plate. The crow begins to carefully eat the cheese using a knife and fork. A guard stands behind her).
All this was seen by a hungry fox,
Who called up to a crow:
A fox enters a restaurant, counts the money and looks greedily at the crow.
“How very beautiful you are
Has no one told you?”
The fox begins to approach the crow, but the guard does not let her get close
Leading
Now since the crow still held the cheese
Quite firmly in his beak,
He gave a nod to the fox below,
But did not dare to speak.
Fox licking her lips
“Not only are you beautiful”,
The fox said, “but I have heard
Your voice is lovelier than the voice
Of any other bird!”
The crow does not react, continues to eat cheese

The crow, puffed up by all of this,
Smiled down at the fox bellow,
But his beak still firmly held the cheese/
And didn't let it go.
Fox sneaking up on a crow and trying to trick a guard
“If I could hear your song,” said the fox,
“I could soon be able to tell
If it is true that even the nightingale
Cannot sing half as well.”
Crow nods to the guard. He throws the fox out from the table a little rudely.
