How not to worry before performing on stage. Optimal concert state, or how to overcome anxiety before performing on stage? How to overcome stage anxiety

A batch code is a code of numbers and/or letters applied to a package or bottle of cosmetic products. This combination of symbols encodes the expiration date of the product, knowledge of which will not hurt when shopping at sales, replete with expired products.

The search for the batch code must start from the bottom of the package. Often, a conscientious manufacturer does not hide this information, so it is located in a visible place - on top of the main information about the perfume. For example, on a bottle of fragrance the batch code (Y0806) looks like this:

Some manufacturers write this information not only on the packaging, but also on the bottle. If you were unable to find the batch code on the perfume bottle (on the side or bottom).

How to determine the release date using batch code

Some manufacturers use this information to encode the production date of perfumes, and each brand has its own system. So, uses 4-5 digits. The first and second digits are the year of issue, the rest are the number of days from the beginning of the year to the issue date.

On the product you can find 6-7 numbers that mean the following:

  • year of release (first position);
  • day of release from the beginning of the year (positions 2-4);
  • batch number (positions 5-6).

For a seven-digit code, the layout is different:

  • Positions from the first to the third indicate the batch number;
  • position 4 - year of manufacture;
  • positions 5 and 6 - week of release from the beginning of the year;
  • position 7 is the day of the week on which this fragrance was released.

On Christian Dior products you can find a code of numbers and letters, in which the first digit is the year of production, and the letters are the months of production from the beginning of the year in alphabetical order (January - a, February - b, etc.).

How to check the batch code

Those who wish to decipher this information can use online services. The fact is that manufacturers often do not make this information public, so website creators write the verification algorithm themselves, and collect decoding secrets bit by bit from official consultants and distributors, on blogs, on forums and with the assistance of people who collect personal code databases.

To check the batch code you need to do the following:

  • register on the appropriate website (in some cases this is not required - for example, when working with makeup-review).
  • check the presence of the desired brand in the service database;
  • enter the brand of the fragrance in the “brand” field or similar. Important: when deciphering the code, only the brand name is entered, without the “name” of the perfume;
  • fill in the “Code” position (you must enter letters and numbers without any changes);
  • Click the “define” button or similar.

"Fl.oz." and all its secrets

Not many perfume lovers pay attention to this inscription, but it is worth getting an idea about it. Back in the 18th century, the so-called “fluid ounce” was adopted as a unit of measurement for the volume of perfume. It is its designation that can be found on the boxes in the form of Fl. Oz./oz. fl./fl. oz. This measure is used exclusively in perfumery.

When converting fluid ounce to generally accepted ml, the indicators will differ. So, in England we are talking about 28.413 ml, which is rounded to 28. In the USA we are usually talking about the so-called Imperial fluid ounce, equal to 29.56 ml (usually rounded to 30).

Why do perfumers use obscure ounces instead of the usual milliliters? This can hardly be explained by considerations of convenience, so we are most likely talking about an established historical tradition. At the same time, if there is no Fl.Oz information on the packaging or bottle, you should seriously think about the authenticity of the perfume - all popular and famous brands use this designation.

Sometimes indicated on the package facilities. If the tube/jar was packaged in cardboard box, you need to look for the expiration date on it. Usually the production date is printed there, and the expiration date is written after the storage conditions.

Add to production date the specified period of time (for example, for most Oriflame decorative cosmetics it is 3 years) and get the time when cosmetics should be thrown away.

Do not forget that the expiration date is valid when closed packaging.

For example, you purchased a cream and removed protective foil/film.

After this event, the shelf life of the product decreases significantly.

The same is true with decorative cosmetics.

If on the package not specified production date or shelf life, they can be determined using another method.

Examination

What does the code say? How to decrypt it? Often foreign manufacturers do not indicate the production date in the usual form: year, month, day. This concerns popular foreign brands. Usually, dates can be determined by a code that must be printed or stuck on the packaging of cosmetics. It consists of letters of the Latin alphabet and numbers.

Another name for these combinations is batch code. It can be found next to . This symbolic combination roughly looks like this: A1234BC5. Quantity letters and numbers always different: the code can consist of either three or ten characters. Their location also does not have certain conditions.

Such codes usually contain information about the batch number, release date and expiration date. However, to determine this data you need transcript.

Deciphering the code is a simple process. If you want to determine the expiration dates right when purchasing cosmetics, contact the seller and ask official documents from the manufacturer, which contains tables for decoding batch codes.

If you decide to check this data at home, you can use Internet. For many common cosmetic brands there are special applications to mobile phones, which, when entering a code, display production/storage data.

You can also use special tables with decoding of code designations. Usually everything is sorted there by brand and described in detail. It is better to write the code down on a piece of paper, then write each of its characters on a new line and sign the encrypted information opposite them. For example, the most common brands korean cosmetics The first character of the code is a number indicating the year of production.

Exist special websites and online calculators, where by entering a code in a special field indicating the brand of the cosmetic product, you can find out all the information about production and storage times.

How to store?

As was said above, when leakage factory packaging, the shelf life is reduced significantly.

First of all, this concerns liquid decorative cosmetics, creams, masks, lotions and products containing herbal products (lipsticks, oil hair sprays, etc.).

Oils begin to break down when exposed to oxygen, and liquid products dry up.

Mascara

After opening a tube of mascara, you can store it no more than two months. Do not forget that the brush is constantly in contact with the eyes and eyelashes, so mascara that has been stored for a very long time will dangerous to the health of the mucous membranes of the eyes: Bacteria developed over a long period of time can cause conjunctivitis. In addition, dry mascara can crumble and get into your eyes, which is also extremely unpleasant.

Pomade

You can store opened lip glosses and lipsticks up to a year. However, it is important to comply the necessary conditions: close the tube tightly, put it in a dark and cool place.

In the heat, bacteria that transferred from the lips to the lipstick during application will quickly multiply. Oils contained in moisturizing and nourishing lipsticks spoil quickly in the light and open air.

Powder and blush

Dry blush and powder can be stored 1-2 years. It all depends on the storage conditions and composition of the product. If the product contains talc, you can safely use it 2 years. Talc is a natural preservative.

Foundation, makeup base and liquid concealers

All these cosmetic products belong to liquid products.

They must be stored in a cool place and tightly closed packages, otherwise the incoming oxygen will quickly provoke drying out.

After six months It is better to throw away such products after use, because they change consistency and can clog pores.

Eye and lip pencils

Eye and lip pencils that do not require sharpening with a special sharpener can be stored 12 months. However, if the pencil is sharpened with a metal sharpener, the shelf life will be reduced. up to 6 months, because they contain oils that are destroyed upon contact with metal.

Cream for body, hands and face

When used correctly, their shelf life is 6 months. Remember to close the tubes tightly and store in a cool place.

Do not apply cosmetics with your hands. For creams sold in jars, purchase special blades, with which you can take the required amount of cream. It’s better not to put your fingers in the jar, as this will provoke bacterial development in the product.

When applying eye shadow, blush, powder and concealer, use brushes and sponges. Periodically wipe necks and lids of packages with antibacterial wet wipes. The necks of tubes with creams are always considered a place accumulations of bacteria.

Before closing the jar, wipe the neck with a cotton pad soaked in remover and blow into the bottle, then immediately screw on the cap. This will help protect the varnish from drying out.

Once a week rinse sponges, brushes and applicators with soapy water and dry them on a soft cloth. Place all cosmetics in a tightly closed bag, which should preferably be placed in cool place.

Don't let to your friends lipstick, eye shadow, mascara and powder/blush.

Bacteria can get into the products from the skin and eyes of other girls, and you risk getting infected herpes, conjunctivitis or simply getting inflammation.

Observe storage conditions and be careful about expiration dates, and then your favorite cosmetics will bring only joy and make you even more beautiful!

It's completely normal to feel nervous before public speaking. Even outstanding personalities worry sometimes, but this does not mean that the problem cannot be solved. If you want to relieve tension, it is important to prepare in advance, focus on trying to relax your body and mind, and use techniques to keep yourself in control while speaking. This preparation allows you to reduce stress and remain confident.

Steps

Part 1

How to Prepare for a Speech

    Select a topic that interests you. If possible, choose a topic that you like. If you understand the subject, it will be easier for you. Put a part of yourself into the speech and explain why you are interested in such a topic, even if you need to voice boring statistics regarding last year’s wheat crop failure. It will be easier for you to prepare and rehearse if the topic is important or interesting to you.

    • If you find the text interesting and important, then your listeners will sense your enthusiasm and will likely appreciate the sincerity of your words. For example, if you are interested in a complex scientific theory, your enthusiasm will help make the speech more exciting and make the importance of the theory clear to your audience.
  1. Become an expert on the topic. It is important for the speaker to have a good understanding of the topic. Otherwise, a person may become confused if the data turns out to be inaccurate. You may also be confused by questions from audience members post-presentation if you don't know the answers.

    • When researching a topic, it's important to do some groundwork to understand the basics and then focus on a specific question. For example, if you want to give a report on Shakespeare's plays, you should first study general information about the playwright's work, and then move on to one or two specific plays.
    • Also keep in mind the questions you might be asked. Prepare answers to potential questions to feel better equipped and less worried.
    • Don't forget to prepare a response for situations where you don't know the answer. You can say, "That's a great question. I'll definitely look into that aspect."
  2. Write your speech in advance. When people are nervous, they often procrastinate and wait until the last minute to write their speech. However, it's easier to deal with anxiety if you take the time to edit and rehearse your speech.

    • A short speech for a school lesson should be written in about a week. This will give you a couple of days to make the necessary changes, and also a few more days to perfect the finished version.
    • If you have to give a long speech in front of hundreds of people (for example, an hour-long lecture), then start writing the text of the speech several weeks before the scheduled date.
    • If you are writing a speech in advance, then depending on the topic, you need to monitor new information and discoveries so that your material does not lose relevance.
  3. Practice speaking out loud. Rehearsing helps you smooth out your speech so that all your words and ideas sound natural and effortless. Good preparation allows you to reduce anxiety and feel confident in your abilities.

    • Practice your speech in front of a friend. It will help you get used to the presence of spectators.
    • Set up a camera and record your speech. Review the recording and highlight points that need to be corrected or improved. It is always better to eliminate shortcomings in advance!
  4. Write the final version of the text. On the day of the performance, it is better not to experiment with a new style or make changes to the material. If you give a speech that is not the one you have been preparing for so long, then anxiety cannot be avoided.

    • This doesn't mean you can't make minor changes, like a couple of extra examples or adjusting dissonant sentences. The main thing is not to change almost the entire speech before the speech begins.
    • Sometimes it is necessary to update statistics or titles that may have changed since you wrote your text. In case of significant changes, it is better to consider them at the end of the speech (depending on the topic of the report).

    Part 2

    How to relax your mind
    1. Leave negative experiences in the past. Some people are afraid of public speaking because of a humiliating situation that happened in the past (usually in childhood). Such events can traumatize the psyche and cause fear of public speaking for the rest of your life. Even if the fear is not a phobia, it is often related to past failures and embarrassment.

      • Don't forget that all great speakers were once inexperienced beginners. They all became successful because they decided to improve and learn from past mistakes.
      • If your fear is related to past events, then consult a psychotherapist or counseling psychologist who specializes in phobias. Contrary to popular belief, phobias can be overcome through hard work and regular therapy sessions.
    2. Mentally imagine the desired result. Often people who are afraid of speaking in public mentally imagine their speech as a complete failure, which negatively affects the performance. Instead, imagine that you are successfully delivering a speech. Remember to anticipate success to get the results you want.

      • Visualize yourself calmly and confidently delivering a speech in front of an appreciative audience. Try to hear the clear and measured sound of your words. Imagine that you have a straight posture, easy and free breathing. This is how you program yourself for success.
    3. Get rid of bad thoughts. Every time you start to doubt yourself or imagine a disappointing outcome, switch to something else. Tell yourself emphatically, “STOP.” Do anything to keep your mind off failure: sing, whistle, read poetry, walk, or call a friend.

      • Try replacing scary thoughts with funny ones: imagine the audience wearing clown costumes or underwear.
    4. Listen to relaxing or energetic music before your performance. One of the best ways to calm your mind is to listen to your favorite music. It will help you cope with anxiety and lift your spirits.

      • The specific compositions depend on your musical preferences and the upcoming speech. For motivational speech, it is better to listen to energetic music. Before speaking on the topic of problems in society, listen to calm songs.
    5. Forget that everything has to be perfect. People are often afraid of public speaking for fear of making a mistake and feeling awkward in front of an audience. This kind of worry only increases the likelihood of mistakes. Even professional announcers can make mistakes. The whole difference is that they do not consider mistakes as insurmountable obstacles to success.

      • The secret is simple: accept the fact that occasional mistakes are inevitable. This is the only way you will learn to quickly recover from mistakes.
      • View mistakes as opportunities to improve so that the pursuit of perfection does not become an unbearable burden on your shoulders.

    Part 3

    How to relax your body
    1. Rest. Prepare in advance and try to get enough sleep before the performance. Fatigue will make it impossible for you to deal with stress during a presentation.

      • If you can't sleep, drink warm milk and think about something pleasant. It is also useful to listen to calm and relaxing music or read entertaining literature.
    2. Minimize other stressful situations before your performance. Aim to remove any stressful meetings from your schedule that could weaken your ability to concentrate and speak confidently. In other words, you don't need to schedule a job interview, a dentist appointment, or a meeting with your ex-spouse's lawyer on the day of an important speech.

      Do not take psychotropic substances. Some people mistakenly believe that alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, or sedatives will help them speak better. You should know that such substances will become a crutch for a healthy person. It is better to avoid them and use all your mental abilities.

      • One of the problems is the difficulty of controlling the dosage. There is always a risk of having too much. Since the substances quickly enter the bloodstream, it is no longer possible to change the situation. Your relaxation may turn into sluggishness, and your enthusiasm may become nervous excitement.
    3. If you feel excess energy before the performance, then do physical exercise. A light workout will release excess energy and will not deprive you of strength.

      • For example, a few hours before your presentation, you can go for a yoga class or walk to relax and prepare.
    4. Think about your appearance. Choose a comfortable and formal suit. Polish your shoes until they shine and style your hair. Wear attractive business attire. Looking good and feeling comfortable will increase your self-confidence.

      • If you don't know how to look, then talk to friends or relatives who can boast of good taste. Ask what color or style suits you best.
      • If you have a very important speech coming up, you can contact an image consultant or stylist. A good consultant will help you look your best without going broke.
    5. Eat something healthy and light before your performance. On the morning of your performance, you should choose a healthy breakfast that will energize you for the whole day. You can eat something light or nothing 1 hour before the presentation. A full stomach makes it difficult to concentrate and will deprive you of energy as the body is busy digesting food. However, hunger is also a bad ally.

Remember yourself a few years ago?

Almost everyone at school or university, during an exam or a simple lesson, had this situation: you sit, trembling like an aspen leaf or a kitten caught in the rain, and suddenly you hear your name coming from somewhere far away, as if through a layer of cotton wool: “Sidoro -o-ov (Sinitsyna, Yablochkin - underline as necessary), to the board! It is impossible to forget the fear of a teacher, but could we then imagine that teachers are sometimes no less afraid of us?

“I just look like an adult. In fact, it's the other way around."

Bel Kaufman

Now we have grown up and stand on the other side of the barricades, and fear of students is one of our pressing problems. Entering the classroom, especially for the first time, some experience only slight excitement, some get cold hands, and there are also teachers whose throats tighten and their legs give way. Before my first lesson, I felt like I was standing on the edge of an abyss: opening the door to the classroom seemed tantamount to stepping into emptiness and the unknown.

An extreme degree of anxiety does not have the best effect on the productivity of a lesson; besides, experiencing constant stress is not only unpleasant, but also harmful.

To defeat the enemy, that is, fear, you need to look him in the face. I’m not encouraging you to play staring contest with your students right now (although why not?), but it’s simply necessary to understand the reason for the jitters! Aware means armed.

Fear of performing is an ancient fear based on the instinct of self-preservation. It is common for people to be part of a society (read: a tribe); during the mammoth hunt, this guaranteed survival: people got food together, arranged their lives, and defended themselves from enemies. Standing out from the crowd meant challenging, changing the usual course of things, taking responsibility for the actions of others.

So, the fear of speaking is, first of all, the fear of the unknown; we are afraid of what might happen in class, of condemnation and mistakes. They won't listen to you? Or will they ask a difficult or awkward question? Or will the technology suddenly fail?

Before class, think through possible troubles, live through them, mentally find ways to solve problems and forgive yourself for mistakes.

Method number 1. Breathe

The simplest thing you can do is not stop breathing.

Your cold body is unlikely to please the students and administration, but breathing will help you calm down and come to your senses. Breathe deeply and evenly, inhale for four counts and exhale for the same number of counts. You will be surprised, but you will soon feel much better.

Method number 2. Play sports

Regular exercise reduces anxiety and overall stress levels. Even if you are far from sports, just walk briskly before class or do 10 squats - this will help take your mind off anxious thoughts and redirect your energy. The main thing is not to overdo it; a out of breath teacher looks a little ridiculous.

Stress leads to atrophy of brain neurons and disrupts neural connections. This affects intellectual potential and the ability to find a way out of difficult situations. With the help of physical activity, the level of the neuropeptide galanin increases in the brain, which protects neural connections from the destructive effects of stress.

Method number 3. Deceive the audience and yourself

When a teacher enters the classroom, it is not written on him whether he is worried or calm as a boa constrictor. Now is the time to take advantage of this advantage! Straighten your shoulders, straighten your back, move slowly around the class, show with all your appearance that you are confident in yourself. Then you will be able to deceive not only the audience, but also yourself: your brain will calm down, following your body.
