The Faculty of Training of Employees for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Units dates back to December 1999, when the Faculty of Economics was formed at the Moscow Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
On June 14, 2002, the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation was created, under the leadership of Vladimir Yakovlevich Kikot. The Faculty of Economics became one of the leading departments. From this moment on, a new stage began in improving the quality of training of specialists with higher professional education for the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation.
The first head of the department was Igor Filippovich Amelchakov, who laid the foundations for the faculty’s activities. The main formation of the faculty took place from October 2002 to August 2003, when the head of the faculty was Igor Aleksandrovich Kalinichenko.
At various times, starting from 2003, the faculty was headed by Stefankov Oleg Vladimirovich, Ivanov Valery Ivanovich, Izmailov Damir Falikhovich, Savelyev Nikolay Viktorovich, Grachev Vyacheslav Sergeevich.
In 2011, the Faculty of Economics increased the number of personnel due to the merger of Moscow University and the Academy of Economic Security, as a result of which it received the name Faculty of Economic Security. The efforts of the teaching staff were united, thereby expanding the range of scientific research in the field of combating economic crimes.
From August 2011 to May 2014, Skivterist Andrey Anatolyevich was appointed head of the Faculty of Economics. He believed that only a highly qualified police officer, adapted to any situation, is capable of resisting the criminal environment.
The new status of our faculty has allowed us to increase the level of training of cadets and students.
In January 2016, as part of the reorganization, the Faculty of Economic Security was renamed into the Faculty of Training of Employees for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Units. The main feature of the educational concept of the faculty is the professional training of an economist, combining fundamental knowledge in the field of economics, law, sociology, psychology; mastery of information management technologies and modern methods of analysis of socio-economic phenomena and processes.
Currently, the head of the faculty is police colonel Vadim Anatolyevich Baykov.
The deputy chief for work with personnel, Yuri Pavlovich Yunusov, is responsible for nurturing a general culture and high moral values of law enforcement defenders, monitoring compliance with official discipline and the rule of law during service in the internal affairs bodies.
The work to ensure the educational process is carried out by Denis Pavlovich Nekrasov. Thanks to the high level of professional training, scientific activity is highly developed. Cadets and students take part in conferences and are active in scientific circles. Also working in the field of study are: senior teacher - methodologist, police lieutenant colonel A.V. Bashmakova, teacher - methodologist, senior police lieutenant O.I. Lugovaya, as well as senior inspector for monitoring the execution of instructions of the educational process support group N.V. Maksimova.
Activities related to patronage work, moral and psychological training in general are carried out by police major Shumskaya V.S., police captain Pachurina K.S., senior inspector for monitoring the execution of orders of the group for working with variable personnel K.I. Poluektova.
Course directors, their deputies and platoon commanders are actively involved in organizing and ensuring the educational process. The Faculty is an independent structural educational division of the University. Our main task is to ensure the implementation of the educational program of higher professional education in the specialty “Economic Security”.
Since its formation, the faculty has graduated about 1,500 officers for the internal affairs department, 30 of whom graduated from the university with a gold medal and more than 200 with honors.

The Research Department has been operating since 2000. The role and relevance of the scientific research carried out at the Academy is extremely high; it is the scientific basis for the conceptual justification of law enforcement mechanisms for ensuring economic security in the context of administrative and judicial reforms. A number of developments were carried out on instructions from the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development and other executive authorities. This year alone, research on 52 topics was successfully conducted. The Academy has two branches in Ufa and Essentuki, where training is conducted in two specialties: Finance and Credit and Jurisprudence via correspondence courses.
The most important structural unit of the Academy is the faculty of advanced training and retraining, headed by Candidate of Legal Sciences, Police Colonel V.A. Pertley.
