Features of training
The Institute of International Economic Relations practices an individual approach to learning. The university administration studies any requests from students and promptly responds to them. In the process of preparing bachelors in the chosen profile, special attention is paid to the study of promising disciplines that are related to foreign trade activities. Students master a number of economic disciplines: world economics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, industrial market economics, labor economics and public sector economics, and a number of management disciplines: management, organizational process management, organization theory, project management, organization theory and quality management.
In addition, the curriculum includes the study of highly specialized disciplines on the legal regulation of foreign economic activity, the organization of foreign economic activity, monetary relations and international settlements.
At the professional level, students of the Institute of International Economic Relations study a foreign language - English. For this purpose, the program provides 1100 teaching hours. Students study English in small groups - ten people in a classroom for eight hours a week, and so on for four years. In addition, some special disciplines are taught in English.
Thanks to such in-depth training, a university graduate will be fluent in English, including spoken English, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on his employment prospects.
A bachelor's degree from IMES allows university graduates to enter a master's program at the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation or at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

We were in Sochi in April 2018. I liked everything very much, nice and polite staff, excellent rooms, the beach is nearby. Sochi is an amazing city and a must visit. We went to Rosa Khutor and climbed to the very top on a ski lift! The views are beyond words! We took the excursion and really enjoyed it, there were no queues or waits, we heard a lot of new interesting things along the way. I really like the classes, the teaching staff and the University itself, the schedule is adjusted comfortably to the students and this is an untold plus. Such things as regular and electronic libraries, the Internet at the university, provide an incredible platform for study. Teachers can always give advice and suggest something individually. The institute is relatively small and not very well known. But this does not affect the quality of education today. Now I’m finishing my 4th year of full-time study and what I personally remember is how interesting it is that teachers with work experience share their knowledge with students (that is, not mere theory). The teaching staff here is excellent, and if you need any help, the institute staff will always be able to help you. Every teacher can always find an approach to any student, which is also pleasing. A characteristic feature of IMES is the study of promising disciplines related to foreign trade activities. This is a whole range of economic disciplines (micro- and macroeconomics, world economics, industrial market economics, public sector economics, firm economics, labor economics, econometrics), management disciplines (management, quality management, project management, organizational change management, organization theory), as well as highly specialized disciplines in the organization and technology of foreign economic activity, international payments and monetary relations, legal regulation of foreign economic activity.
At the end of 4 years of study, students receive state diplomas with a bachelor's degree in economics (specialization - foreign economic activity) or bachelor of management (specialization - foreign trade management). All state educational standards in these areas are impeccably met, but the training of specialists in this area (foreign trade activities) requires not only the presence of fundamental knowledge of economics and management, but also knowledge of foreign languages.
