The new king of Thailand looks like Timati. The King of Thailand has died

The King of Thailand died... On October 12, 2016, at Sirirat Hospital at 15.52 in Bangkok at the age of 88, Phupin Adulyadej’s heart stopped beating.

I understood that sooner or later I would have to write this material, because... The King of Thailand is not just a King, he is a Man of the Epoch, who began his reign back in 1946... It is difficult to even estimate the scale of such a time frame, but just imagine for a moment - we have just died down the salvos of the Great Patriotic War, and he came to authorities. Almost 70 years on the throne, several generations of Thais grew up under this Great Man and now He is gone.

The greatness of Bhumibol Adulyadej is not that he is the King of Thailand, and not that he was able to stay on the throne for 70 years and survive a couple of dozen military coups, and not that he ruled the country for more than the average life expectancy in Russia. The King of Thailand is a man who loved his people and became for the Thais almost the incarnation of God on earth. Bhumibol Adulyadej was not a dictator and did not usurp power for more than half a century, it was not thanks to force or dictatorship that he was King for 70 years! The greatness of this man lies primarily in his deeds and actions!

Bhumibol Adulyadej is a man who invested his soul, knowledge, money into the development of his country and the prosperity of his people, so for the Thais this is truly mourning. Now in all cities of Thailand there are crowds of people on the streets, with portraits of the King, with tears in their eyes.

I am far from Thailand now, but I can imagine what this loss means for the nation.

Once I was on a public holiday - the King's Birthday. It was in 2013, the King then appeared on television, gave a speech... He spoke with difficulty, in the voice of a very tired man, a man who was saying goodbye to the nation, a man who may never again be able to address his subjects... A huge area was filled with people... The Thais were crying.. I have never seen so many people who are so capable of empathizing together.

I will not list all the King’s merits again, because... It is impossible to list more than 3,000 Royal projects implemented during the reign of Bhumibol Adulyadej, and I have already written material about this man, where I briefly touched on this topic - Bhumibol Adulyadej - King of Thailand. More than 3,000 projects that were aimed at improving the lives of ordinary people! The King himself designed dams and bridges, spent billions of dollars on charity, developed entire regions of his Kingdom, investing his money in the implementation of these projects!

Who will be the next King of Thailand?

According to Article 23 of the 2007 Constitution, when the throne becomes vacant and the King has already appointed his heir under the Succession Act 1924, the Cabinet must notify the President of Parliament, who will convene Members of Parliament for confirmation. The President of Parliament will then invite the Heir to the throne and proclaim him King of Thailand, in accordance with the Law.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej appointed His Royal Highness Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn as Heir to the Throne on December 28, 1972, after which he became His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Maha Vajiralongkorn. Those. The next King of Thailand, according to the will and law on succession to the throne, will be Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, this has already been announced in the Thai media, but the figure of the prince himself causes mixed responses among ordinary Thais...

What will happen to foreigners in Thailand?

Many foreigners permanently residing in Thailand are no less concerned about the death of the King, because... The country is facing changes and it is not known how this will affect permanent residents without citizenship of the Kingdom. Thais are known for their hot temper and therefore another popular unrest is possible after mourning events.

Who is the new king of Thailand? How long will he remain on the throne? Who is the new King Bhumibol Adulyadej related to? How do local residents feel about the real ruler and provocative photographs with his participation? Brief biography, life story and interesting facts.

So one of the most terrible events in the life of every Thai took place - the funeral of the beloved and highly respected king - Bhumibol Adulyadej. Let us remember that he died on October 13, 2016, at the age of 88, in the 70th year of ruling the country. For 365 days, all the inhabitants of the kingdom kept mourning. On October 26, 2017, the body of the deceased was cremated.

Maha Vajiralongkorn - the new Thai ruler or a convinced European

Following the farewell to the deceased, the new king of Thailand was officially appointed. He became the son of the late Rama IX - Maha Vajiralongkorn. He was the only son and main heir to the throne. The new ruler is not young - he was born on July 28, 1952 (65 years old).

According to the rules of Thailand, regardless of age, the successor specified in the will, or the eldest heir, is obliged to ascend the throne, regardless of age, desires and life beliefs.

By the way, Maha Vajiralongkorn stands out among rulers not only for his respectful age, but also for his rather interesting fate and colorful biography.

  • Accommodation and training

Despite his close relationship with the king, Maha Vajiralongkorn connected his life not only with Thailand and Asian culture. Even in his youth, the future ruler decided to receive higher education abroad, in Great Britain. Of course, he acquired his initial knowledge in his native lands, in the capital of the kingdom - Bangkok.

As soon as school was completed, Maha Vajiralongkorn went to England, then crossed over to Australia to continue his studies. After receiving higher education, the future ruler went to the military academy in Canberra, Australia.

By the way, at the moment he is a highly qualified pilot and helicopter pilot. Maha Vajiralongkorn demonstrated the quality of the acquired knowledge and skills during military operations against Vietnamese partisans in 1970. Eight years later he was appointed commander of a battalion of the king's personal guard.

Despite his significant position, the future king constantly traveled and even lived for a long time in other, more “liberated” countries of Europe. At the time of the death of his father, Rama IX, Maha Vajiralongkorn was at his estate in Germany. By the way, the current ruler of Thailand was interested not only in other countries and their culture. Family life was also in full swing, leaving behind magnificent heirs.

  • Love and Beliefs

He was married three times and had many mistresses. Thus, many media outlets describe the personal life of the real king of Thailand - Maha Vajiralongkorn. From all three marriages, the ruler has seven officially registered children. According to yellow press journalists, in fact, there are many more heirs.

Rama X's love of love was first noted at the age of 25. It was at this age that he first married Soamsavali Kitiyakar, his own cousin. The marriage lasted until 1991.

The second chosen one of the king was Yuvadhida Polpraset. It was this woman who gave birth to the most children - five. The marriage did not last long - from 1994-1996. Subsequently, Yuvadhida Polpraset migrated to the UK and then to the USA, taking all her children with her.

Only years later, one of the heiresses returned to Thailand, receiving the status of a princess.

The third marriage lasted 13 years to Srirasmi Akharaphonpricha.

At the moment, the King of Thailand officially has “free status”. However, sensational photographs that recently appeared in the media proved that Maha Vajiralongkorn does not remain alone for long. In the photographs, his companion was a former Thai Airlines flight attendant. Moreover, readers were more struck not by her presence, but rather by the outfit of the new ruler.

  • freedom of choice

The versatility of the new king of Thailand can be confirmed not only from the history of his travels and personal life. Quite recently, bold and provocative photographs of Maha Vajiralongkorn with the same flight attendant, in a rather revealing outfit - low skinny jeans and a short T-shirt, “thundered” on the Internet. Many were skeptical about this, condemning the ruler for his “strange and inappropriate” attire. By the way, the country’s constitution does not contain rules and protocol for the attire of rulers. Appearance is everyone's business.

The king’s collection of oddities and interesting things also includes his excessive love for dogs. The ruler's favorite breed is the poodle. He even elevated one of his four-legged charges to the rank of military, giving him the rank of air marshal of Thailand. Thanks to its "position", the dog could be present at all official army meetings and celebrations.

The attitude of Thais towards the new king of Thailand - joy or fear

Despite a fairly long mourning period of 365 days, the country still cannot overcome the pain of loss. Of course, those 70 years that Bhumibol Adulyadej ruled were not in vain. At this time, 4 generations were born who were able to see the kingdom flourish under his rule.

Currently, Thais do not express emotions towards the new king and his family. By the way, this is not accepted in principle and is even punishable by prison.

Soon, the life of Thais and the country as a whole will be changed. The streamlined, conservative perception was replaced by a modern ruler, with broad views and a reflection of European modernity. Maybe it will be he who will make the country even more popular for tourism, more developed and pleasant to live in?

The King of Thailand has died, mourning. In connection with the death of Bhumibol Adulyadej, a year of mourning has been declared in the country. This proposal was made by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha during his address to the nation, local media reported.

Mourning in Thailand ; How will it affect tourists? In the first 30 days after the death of the king, flags will be flown at half-mast and all entertainment events will be prohibited. But the Thais themselves will wear mourning clothes throughout the next year, Phuket News reports.

All local television (including international satellite networks) switched to black and white broadcasting. The program schedule has also changed.

Thailand's new King Rama X will be crowned in 2018

New King of Thailand Rama X ( Maha Vajiralongkorn) will still be crowned in 2018. The monarch, who was proclaimed as such back in 2016, was expected to be crowned before the end of 2017, but the coronation ceremony has been postponed to 2018. In November 2018, elections to the Lower House of the Thai Parliament will be held and, thus, democratic rule, interrupted by the 2014 coup d'etat, will be restored.

King Rama X of Thailand (King Vajiralongkorn) is a representative of the Chakri dynasty, which has ruled Thailand for 236 years. Despite the fact that he is already in his seventies, he has yet to take his place in the hearts of the Thai people, create a virtuous image in their eyes and earn a royal reputation. So far, he is not known to his people from the best side - for example, in July 2016, the prince and his mistress appeared on the pages of Bild magazine in an indecent form, scantily clad in tattoos and jeans, in a photo shoot at Munich airport.

Maha Vajiralongkorn (born 07/28/1952) was crown prince for 65 years and all this time he built a military career, an aviation general. As an heir, he studied in the UK and Australia, lived mainly in Germany, where he bought a villa for 10 million euros. In his personal life, the prince was married three times - the first time to his cousin, with whom he has a daughter, Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the second time to a female actress who ran away from him with five children to Great Britain, therefore deprived of rights to the throne; and the third attempt to start a family ended with the birth of the heir Dipangkorn Rasmichoti and divorce.

King Vajiralongkorn's father is the king Bhumibol Adulyadej- over the seven decades of his reign, he did a lot for the rural population, and also integrated citizens of Chinese origin into society, making them his support in the urban environment. The new king of Thailand, however, outlined the main tasks of his reign in reforming royal administration (such institutions as the Crown Property Office) and building relationships with the government. But King Rama X has not yet announced his main mission of his reign.

Even though Maha Vajiralongkorn is the crown prince, the decision to make him king was not uncontroversial. It was accepted by the true owners of the country - the military junta that seized power in the country in 2014. Although the rule of 1924 was observed: the Council of Ministers presented the candidacy of the prince to parliament, which officially invited the contender to the throne to take it. But the potential king of Thailand was forced to seek permission from the military for a period of mourning for his father and for his consent to become a monarch.

Whether Thailand's new king will hand over an integrating economic role to big business remains to be seen. What methods will be used to achieve political balance, which under Bhumibol Adulyadej was largely achieved thanks to the military Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), which suppressed rebel uprisings.

The date of coronation of the new king of Thailand is unknown. The only thing that emerges from the solemn cremation ceremony of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Mahi IX) in October 2016 is that the ritual and pageantry of the coronation will once again highlight the central role of the monarchy in Thai life.

On December 5, King Bhumiphon Adulyadej of Thailand turns 88. During his 69 years of reign, the personality of the monarch has become legendary, and Rama IX is respected and loved by his people. We found interesting, little-known and unexpected facts about the “Father of the Thai Nation”

Mysterious ascension to the throne

Just two years before the birth of Bhumibol Adulyadej, a decree was signed on the right of succession to the throne for children who have only one parent of royal blood. Bhumibol Adulyadej's mother was a commoner, and his status as a member of the royal family came in handy when the current King Rama VIII, Adulyadej's brother, was found shot in the head in the palace. After studying for several years at a Swiss university, Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama IX ascended the throne.

Due to the mysterious murder of his elder brother, the current monarch is the first to live outside the royal palace. He solemnly promised never to ascend to the throne stained with his native blood, so he rules from a new place: the residence of Chitralada. This is the first such case in 400 years.

Lord of clouds and engines

Many people know that the King of Thailand is a serious inventor and talented engineer. He received a patent for creating artificial clouds to water rice plantations during drought. Perhaps Rama IX is the first king who can even control the weather! By the way, he also personally designed the yacht on which the monarch became the champion of the Southeast Asian Games.

The King is also credited with the invention of a special biodiesel fuel: a mixture of diesel with coconut oil. Such a resource is much cheaper, especially in Thailand, the country of coconuts. In addition, it reduces the deforestation of tropical forests.

Caring will melt even a royal heart

Bhumiphon Adulyadej met his wife, Queen Sirikit, when the girl was only 15. But a serious relationship began between them “thanks” to misfortune. In 1948, the king was in a car accident and lost an eye. His friend Sirikit visited him in the hospital for several months. Then trembling feelings arose between the couple.

Throughout the years of the reign of Rama IX, Sirikit remained for him not only his beloved woman, but also a friend and partner, to whose opinion the King listens carefully. The couple is always together around the country; it is almost impossible to see them apart.

Court musicians

The King's motto is “It's never too late to learn.” Throughout his life, Rama IX learned new things: saxophone, Latin, Greek, French literature. Moreover, the monarch was concerned about the musical education of his courtiers! As a result, after several years of study, under the patronage of the King, they created the Sahai Pattana Band.

Court musicians are only a small part of the monarch's contribution to the arts. A talented artist, Rama IX published a series of comics with his own hand drawn about his beloved dog Kong Dang. The Thais loved the comics, and they were also distributed on the streets.

Alms collection

According to the Constitution of Thailand, the king must be the patron of all religions in the country, but he himself is required to profess. The obligatory service for every Buddhist did not spare even the monarch: in orange robes, he not only prayed and fasted, but also walked barefoot among ordinary people, collecting donations for the temple.

Term for insulting His Majesty

It is no secret that insulting the King of Thailand is a criminal offense. Everyone knows that you should not step on banknotes with the image of the monarch and that you must stand during the anthem. It is not so advertised that insulting the King can land you in a Thai prison for a term of 3 to 15 years. Pongsak Sriboonpeng received a record punishment for insulting the monarch in 2015. For 6 unflattering posts on Facebook, a man was sent to prison for 30 years! Moreover, at first he was given 10 years for each of the 6 records, but the lawyers managed to reduce the punishment.

Golden saxophone

Of all the King’s talents, the saxophone deserves special mention. This hobby brought the monarch international fame: he became the first Asian to be awarded honorary membership in the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Rama IX is not only a talented performer, but also a world-famous composer: his works have even been performed in Broadway musicals, and CDs with the melodies of the King of Thailand can be bought in many stores.

Banknote with camera

Canon is the only camera in the world that is depicted on a banknote. It's all about Bhumibol Adulyadej's passion for photography: he not only took many great photographs, but also personally participated in the development of optics for professional Canon equipment. It is with the camera of this company that the King is depicted on the 1000 baht banknote.

Pink is the new yellow

Who will be surprised by the fact that the King’s color is yellow? Anyone who has been to Thailand at least once for the monarch’s birthday knows this. Bhumibol Adulyadej was born on Monday, and in Thailand yellow is the color of this day of the week. But in 2007 the tradition was changed. When Rama IX became seriously ill and ended up in prison, the population of Thailand prayed day and night for their beloved monarch to survive. After a while, a little tired, but alive, the king left the hospital in a pink jacket - and this color became a symbol of joy and the triumph of faith over any illness. In those days, almost every Thai and even many farangs wore pink shirts with the coat of arms of the Chakri dynasty and the phrase “Long Live the King.”

Iron Curtain Monarch

Despite the fact that King Rama IX is a US citizen by birthright and visited many countries of the world in his youth, after his coronation he solemnly promised his people never to leave the borders of the country he rules. But during his life, the King saw many of the most remote corners of Thailand, where he traveled side by side with his beloved wife. And even met Elvis Presley himself!

We congratulate His Majesty on his 88th birthday and wish Rama IX long life, good health and new discoveries!
